Michael Sawyer is a Managing Director of Investments with Smith Barney. He has over 25 years of experience servicing the financial needs of wealthy individuals and their families, as well as the needs of the Corporate and Institutional marketplace. Mr. Sawyer is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) by the Investment Consultants Association (IMCA) of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Private Wealth Management Senior Advisor, a designation granted to less than 1% of the Financial Consultants at Smith Barney. This designation encompasses rigorous academics, extensive technical skills and practical experience to help address the complicated issues facing today's wealthy families. Mr. Sawyer was also awarded the title of Senior Institutional Consultant by Consulting Group, in recognition for his outstanding achievements within the managed money and financial services arena.

Mr. Sawyer and his group provide comprehensive investment, tax, legacy planning, wealth transfer, risk and liability management strategies to help their clients achieve their goals.

Prior to joining Smith Barney in the fall of 2003, he was a Managing Director at Banc of America Securities LLC where he was recruited to be one of the initial investment executives to establish the Montgomery Securities (Banc of America Securities) office in New York, specializing in the wealth management needs of the firm's Investment Banking clients. Throughout Mr. Sawyer's career he has distinguished himself as a top financial advisor with his predecessor firms Merrill Lynch, Rotan-Mosle and Kidder Peabody.

Mr. Sawyer participates in numerous Social and Philanthropic organizations in the New York and New Jersey area. He resides in Summit, New Jersey with his wife, Judi and their three children, Alexandra, Michael and Andrew.
